Regenerant Catalunya Maps

About this map

An open-ended mapping process for who is regenerating Catalunya — where it comes from, why it exists, and where it can go.

This site maps the organizations, programs and events working toward a regenerative Catalunya, together with the priorities, bioregional conditions and ways to contribute around them. It is open-ended by design: the registry behind it keeps growing as new actors are discovered, and the categories can evolve as understanding of the territory deepens.

The map is generated from a Notion-based registry that is curated and expanded continuously; the site itself is rebuilt from it every six hours, so changes appear without anyone deploying anything. The six priority areas are one possible way of grouping the field — a framing we align with and credit on the priorities page, not the only one.

Why we built it

Regenerative work fails when its parts run on separate tracks: projects that should reinforce each other operate in isolation, ecological and social goals are run as separate agendas, and the financial systems available were designed for a different era. The first step out of that is visibility — actors recognising each other as one movement, across the whole territory.

The map is part of Motiu's work on the connective layer of territorial regeneration: mapping and convening the actors of a territory, and building the shared knowledge systems that let regeneration compound. It grew out of Regenerant Catalunya, a funding and capacity-building program for the Catalan bioregion.

Who is behind it

Motiu is a cooperative in Barcelona (Bloc4), rooted in the Economia Social i Solidària. We design and run the financial strategies, collective knowledge systems and coordination that regenerative networks need — of which this map is one.

Where it can go

The Contribute page sketches one direction: the main areas through which people can contribute time, attention or money, each with a few examples drawn from the map. It is deliberately a mockup — inspiration for possible developments, not a finished guide.

If an organization, program or event is missing, or something needs correcting, we would like to hear about it: additions feed the same open registry that powers this site.
